Three Things I Like About: Car Wars

Three Things I Like About: Car Wars

Car Wars, developed and produced by Steve Jackson Games, was a favorite of my high school gaming group. (Yes, all four of us.) We picked up the Deluxe Edition one day during a comic book run; epic city demolition derbys became a common weekend pick-up gaming alternative.

Three Things I Like About: Mechwarrior Dark Age

Today I’m setting my Three Things sights on a Collectible Miniatures Game (CMG), that of Mechwarrior: Dark Age (and its second phase, Age of Destruction). CMGs are similar to CCGs (collectible card games) where game pieces are purchased in ‘blind’ booster packs. The Sound and Fury, Signifying….Well, Nothing Really

Back in 2006, I was asked by Pinnacle Entertainment to write the first of three authorized campaign books to use with the MechWarrior: Age of Destruction game put out by WizKids, LLC. After some discussion with Pinnacle about the idea, I pitched a product that took the feel of tactical video game, using as many …
